About Us

How It Began

NICE Events was founded back in 1996 by the late Suzanne Melser and has grown over the last 25 years to establish itself as one of the most reputable event agencies in the industry.  We credit the longevity of the business to the dedicated team who work tirelessly to ensure client satisfaction is at the forefront of everything we do resulting in a catalogue of successful events and a wonderful, loyal client base.

What We Do

We are an independent event agency that has vast knowledge and experience to provide bespoke, tailored solutions for the requirements of the corporate market, resulting in exceptional global events.  The agency is client-centric with an emphasis on building relationships and understanding client needs which leads to creating exceptional events and experiences and ultimately happy clients.  The dedicated team are focused on offering a personal, end to end service, always exceeding client expectations whilst providing on budget, return on investment.

Our Values

Whilst we are passionate about delivering exceptional events, we are conscious of the impact our business and the wider industry has on the environment and planet.  Issues such as sustainability, waste and environmental impact are key focal points for the company.  We always work in partnership with our clients and venues to reduce our resources wherever possible to minimize negative impacts and ensure our events are as sustainable as possible.

At NICE Events there is a strong emphasis on giving back, whether this be through immersing ourselves in local community projects or getting involved with more global causes, if we can help in any way we will!  On top of this, each year a dedicated charity is nominated by the team who then organise various fundraising activities and events throughout the year in aid of the charitable cause.

The NICE People

At NICE Events we like to think we’re NICE people and that’s why people love working for us!  From regular social activities and team lunches to a big focus on training and mental health, we work really hard to make sure we maintain an environment where people like coming to work.  You’re only as good as your team!

Meet The NICEst Team

Nicky

Managing Director

As Head Honcho at NICE Events, Nicky’s top priority is ensuring the whole team work tirelessly to make the event planning and delivery process smooth and hassle free for our clients. When she’s not doing that, she keeps herself busy delivering amazing events, from incentive trips to Iceland to conferences in Manchester for thousands!

In the little spare time she has, Nicky is likely to be found in her wellies out walking with her Labradors, Mack and Red or relaxing in the local pub with family and friends.

Cassie

cassie nice team

Project Director

In addition to overseeing the day to day managing of the team, Cassie has a varied portfolio of clients and works on everything from sourcing training rooms to onsite management of large-scale conferences and incentives.

The best event she’s ever worked on was a recent incentive trip to Abu Dhabi.  Seeing the group sitting at the top of a sand dune, cold beers in hand watching the sun go down across the desert is something she’ll never forget.

Silmara

Finance Director

Silmara is our in-house number cruncher and general financial wizard!

Originally from Brazil, Silmara moved to England over 18 years ago and brought with her a passion for cycling, dancing and jewellery making.

Her passion for numbers is met only by her passion for a good spa day, Pennyhill Park tops her list of ‘go to’ spa venues.

Darryl

Senior Events Project Manager

Darryl is at her happiest with a colour co-ordinated spreadsheet with multiple tabs.  The more complicated an event the better in Darryl’s’ eyes!

Everyone knows if you need help with a training event – Darryl’s your girl!

Something people don’t know about Darryl; she’s a part-time rock painter!

Megan

Events Project Manager

Megan crossed over to the dark side of the agency world, coming from a venue background in January 2018 and she hasn’t looked back since!

Being truly thrown in at the deep end, Megan’s first project at NICE Events was assisting with the planning and onsite management at an AGM for 600 delegates in Portugal.

When she’s not organising events Megan can be found dreaming about the next destination to tick off her wish list or on the football pitch!

Lois

Events Project Manager

The best event Lois has worked on during her time at NICE Events was a global convention in Orlando for over 10,000 delegates from over 180 countries. The week culminated in an incredible concert featuring David Foster, Katy Perry and Steve Tyler to name drop a few!

Lois’s true passion is for travel and she loves nothing more than exploring new places. Her favourite hotel is the W hotel in Barcelona. What can beat cocktails on the decking overlooking the sandy beach?!

Marnie

Events Project Manager

Marnie’s super power is her encyclopaedic venue knowledge, she’s always in the know when it comes to the newest hotel or must visit location.

Marnie loves using unique and unusual venues which provide a talking point for the event. Her latest event was held at Twickenham Stadium where they ended the day with a pitch side drinks reception and BBQ.

Always one to laugh in the face of danger, Marnie once jumped out of plane whilst in Australia…despite being terrified of flying.

Katie

Events Project Manager

Katie is our newest member of the NICE team, joining May 2022, from a background in weddings and venues.

So far in her time at NICE, she has been on-site at events in the UK and Lisbon and is excited to explore many more countries and venues.

In her free time, Katie enjoys going on holidays, horse riding, trying out new restaurants and a nice glass of prosecco!

Emma

Events Project Manager

Emma’s favourite event to date since joining the NICE Events family is a 2-day Consultant Meeting with teambuilding & BBQ that she delivered at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool. The retro arcade games worked so well and the teambuilding movie making activity had everyone in stitches!

One thing people don’t know about Emma is that she’s French. She was born in Burgundy, yet to her family’s utmost disappointment, she doesn’t like wine!

When she’s not planning an event, Emma can be found playing football or exploring a new holiday destination with a cocktail in hand.

Caroline

Accounts

Caroline helps to ensure that the office runs smoothly, and everything works the way it should. As part of the team (mainly accounts) you can be sure she’ll know where to find the answer to your problem!

Her favourite UK venue is the Mandarin Oriental, although outside the UK you would be more likely to find her in a Chalet on the piste.

Caroline developed her customer service skills from her cabin crew days, and these have been put to very good use at NICE Events.
